Textile designer maker, biodynamic natural dye grower and educator

I am a trained textile designer maker, biodynamic natural dye grower and educator.

I first read the book Fibreshed in 2019 and instantly it resonated with all my training and life experience being part of the Scottish borderlands wool tradition both as an assistant designer in a woollen woven textile mill with friends and family working directly with the land and sheep farming. It was in my work lecturing art and design then as an artist in residence for NHS mental health where I learned mindfulness as well as the importance of connecting to the earth for wellness

It was in 2019 that I became dedicated to gathering as many folks by word of mouth around the possibly of a Fibreshed here in Scotland.

I have been naturally dying since 1989 and now hope to inspire others to think more circularly about the textiles they consume. In my own practice I produce small batch and bespoke cloth on traditional wooden handlooms using a palette of fully traceable natural coloured and botanical dyed wool and linen alongside weaving, natural and eco dye classes.
